Hello and welcome!
I’m Kristin I grew up in a small lakeside town in Southern Florida. My parents were both educators who instilled in me a love for learning! I remember well the late hours they both spent preparing and planning to teach. I guess you could say, teaching runs through my veins. From watching my parents at such a young age, I always knew I wanted to be a teacher passionate about learning. During my high school years, my sister, Sarah and I, were both actively involved in the volunteering at local elementary schools. After graduation, I moved to Kentucky to finish my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.

In Kentucky, not only did I receive my degree, I was also blessed to find the love of my life. Five years ago, I married my husband, Bryan. Bryan is an electrical engineer by day, and a teacher’s assistant helping me in my classroom by night. Teamwork makes the dream work, right?
While I have experience in a variety in grade levels, I currently teach 3rd grade. I feel beyond blessed to go to work each morning doing what I love!
Why Ready Lessons?
Ready Lessons started when I began teaching 5th grade in Kentucky. You see, I hadn’t always wanted to teach in the intermediate grades. My background had previously been in early childhood. I remember moving to Kentucky, attaining my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, putting in several teaching applications, and waiting and hoping for that perfect Kindergarten classroom. When back to school time arrived, I received a call with a job offer, however it was not the Kindergarten classroom, which I had originally hoped for, instead I would be teaching 5TH GRADE. Seriously? Me a 5th GRADE teacher, NO WAY, but I wanted more than ever to teach, so I gladly accepted the position. That very night, like many nights after, I spent countless hours examining the standards, searching for resources, and exploring the latest strategies to keep my students engaged. After coming up empty handed for ready and easy to implement lessons that fit the needs of my students, I decided to create and share my resources (PowerPoints, puzzles, games, and activity sheets) and Ready Lessons was born! I have had many teachers, parents, and students enjoy my lessons and I hope you and your students enjoy them too!
